What to do when things don't go your way...

Welcome to this week's “Here to be Great” guide. Here's what we're talking about this week: what to do when things don't go your way.

What an appropriate theme for 2020! Anybody else having a pretty rough year? By anyone, I mean, isn't everyone!

So this year...I lost my grandmother unexpectedly, I had my pay cut significantly, I was on unemployment, I've had trips canceled and even just recently, I didn't get a home that I was really looking forward to.

So I thought let's take a little bit deeper look at the four-step process that I've been going through when things don't go my way.

Step 1: I always believe that I am being guided.

I always believed that I am being guided and I really believe that everything is happening for the highest good of all. So when something doesn't go my way, the first thing I think is - I believe that I'm being guided and I trust the universe. This is (for whatever reason) for the highest good for all.

Step 2: I say “thank you.”

Thank you. Thank you, Universe for guiding me to my highest good. I start by showing appreciation for everything that I have. I find that when I get into a state of gratitude, I immediately shift into an abundance mindset. I get out of the scarcity. I get out of lack. I get out of the fear that happens when I get disappointed from a loss.

So, I start to say “thank you.” I say “thank you” for all the incredible family members that are in my life. Thank you for the beautiful memories that I had with my grandmother. Thank you for the incredible place that I live now. Thank you for the money that's in my bank account.

I shift into a state of gratitude and I signal to the universe that I am so appreciative of everything that I have and I live in abundance.

Step 3: I surrender.

I just surrender. And look…I'm going to be honest - that is so much easier to say that it is to do! But, I have a really clear vision for my life and I trust that that vision will manifest itself.

What I surrender to is the journey that gets me to my greatest life. I surrender to the path on which I am being led. I try to relax from controlling every little step of the process that gets me to that highest vision for my life.

The details I surrender to...but, I stay attached to the vision. I always love Gabby Bernstein and she has a great quote that says, “when you think you've surrendered, surrender more.”

I've definitely found myself in that state this year. Just when I think I've surrendered to the process, something else will come up and I just have to ease into the surrender a little bit more.

Step 4: I always believe the best is yet to come!

I have a friend who this is her mantra and I love that! The best is yet to come. So, I have that vision for my life and when something doesn't work out that I think is on my path and a part of my plan, I always believe that I'm being guided and that everything's happening for the highest good. Then, I say “thank you” and I show gratitude for everything that I have in my life. Then, I surrender and then I switch to just knowing that the best is yet to come!

I get really excited about all the things that are possibilities for my life. You know what I mean? I just start to shift to a different frequency, like I can feel my vibration get higher. When I start to think about all of the great things that are still to come on my journey, I get VERY excited.

So I hope that as you are facing the really crappy things that may be happening in 2020, that this four-step process helps you on your journey as well.

Thank you for stopping by and I'll see you next week at the “Here to be Great” guide.
